ROAD CONSTRUCTION ALERT::
WIS 29 – Shawano Ave./Taylor St. Intersection
Schedule: May 2011 to October 16, 2011
Location: Intersection of Shawano Avenue and Taylor Street in the city of Green Bay.
Description: The project will replace the existing signalized intersection at Shawano Avenue and Taylor Street with a dual-lane roundabout and re-route Old Shawano Avenue. Work items include storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete pavement, four overhead sign structures, retaining wall construction, landscaping, and incidental construction.
May 31 to June 3: Crews began preparing for stage 1 concrete paving along eastbound Shawano Avenue and North Taylor Street.
June 6 to June 10: Crews will begin stage 1 concrete paving along eastbound Shawano Avenue. Fine grading for asphalt paving will begin along the Old Shawano Connection (new street).
Traffic Impacts: Shawano Avenue is reduced to one eastbound lane between US 41 and Taylor Street. North Taylor Street is reduced to one lane in each direction between Shawano Avenue and Dousman Street. Daytime shoulder closures will be in place along westbound Shawano Avenue and South Taylor Street. The Shawano/Taylor intersection is scheduled to close to traffic on July 1 for reconstruction and reopen in October
