The Sunday morning elementary program is designed for children in grades 1-4, using the Tru curriculum which reveals The Big God Story of God’s redemptive plan for elementary-age kids.
Spiritual formation is about helping kids build a life-long relationship with God. This means giving them a strong foundation in biblical knowledge and being intentional about creating space for kids to encounter the living God. Through the process of spiritual formation, we desire children to open their hearts to God, learn His voice, have a desire to obey Him, and to do so in the power the Holy Spirit offers to each believer.
We define the “The Big God Story” as God’s ENTIRE story. It incorporates all of history, stretching from Genesis to Revelation and beyond. In the past, Christian instruction has told fragmented stories of God, Jesus, or other people in the Bible, as if they were not part of a greater narrative. Tru communicates each Bible story within the context of The Big God Story, so the Bible becomes much more than just a collection of short stories. Each lesson is centered on God and how He works in our lives.
God has woven His redemptive plan throughout time and we want kids to understand that they not only play a part in this incredible story, but are also part of a much larger faith community of past, present, and future believers
Tru provides families with materials to help them connect as a family and grow together spiritually.
Classroom Format
Elementary students start the morning out in the Gym with their parents and then are dismissed after the worship segment of the service (leaders will escort children to their class). They will participate in a large group teaching time and age appropriate small group activities designed to help them understand how the day’s topic applies to their lives and to develop relationships with other students and their leaders.
* Security tags must be printed at the Check-In Center prior to entering the Gym *
