WHAT’S NEW IN 2012?

No Mini Program (3-year-olds)

• Based on feedback we received from leaders, we will not be providing a Mini Program.  Three-year-olds are developmentally too young for a three-hour structured program.

• Childcare will be available for infants – age 3 for children of VBS volunteers.

FiveSix

• Due to 5th grade moving out of BFour, the Express program (4th/5th grade) will be eliminated.

• 4th grade will join the elementary area (1st – 4th grades).

• FiveSix will have a separate program in the Youth Center.

Volunteers

• An important part of the FamilyLife strategy is to connect kids with another caring adult (besides their parents) from our church family that will be with them for the long term. Therefore, we require VBS leaders to be part of the Green Bay Community Church fellowship.

• Student volunteers must be entering 7th grade or higher to serve. Since we are developing these students as future leaders, they are also required to be part of the Green Bay Community Church fellowship.

VBS Purpose
Investing across generations to help kids grow in their faith and to encourage healthy relationships.

VBS Goals
Through VBS…

• Kids will explore God’s Word in a fun and exciting way. They will hear the Gospel message and have an opportunity to accept Christ into their lives and grow in their faith.

• We will reach out to families without a home church and offer them a church family at GBCC.

• Important relationships will be built between adults with kids and kids with kids. Part of the FamilyLife strategy is to connect kids with another caring adult (besides their parents) from our church family that will be with them for the long term. Kids will also form peer relationships that will help them connect at church and school.

• We will challenge leaders to take the next step in their leadership abilities by encouraging them to continue the relationships built during VBS by investing in the kids on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday nights.

• We will encourage the kids and their families to take the next step in their spiritual growth by inviting them to participate in various GBCC opportunities:  Sunday Services, Wednesday Night Connect, STEPS Program, and Community Groups.

VBS Prayer
Pray that God will use VBS to draw kids and their leaders closer to Him and to one another.
