When should I arrive?
Services start promptly at 5:00 pm Saturday, 8:30 am and 10:30 am on Sunday. We usually have some music playing to set the mood about 15 minutes before the service. We encourage you to come a bit early, relax, and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee, cider, or tea from our Higher Grounds coffee area in the main (west) lobby. Be sure to stop at the Welcome Center in the same lobby to pick up a coupon for your free hot beverage.

How's the parking?
GBCC has two parking lots, one off Cardinal Lane (West lot) and one off Community Way and Turnbury Court. (East lot). If you park in the West lot, you can walk directly into the main lobby with easy access to Higher Grounds and the auditorium. If you park in the East lot you'll need to make your way through our sizable building to get to the auditorium. The directional signage will help you to find your way to the main lobby.

How will I be greeted?
The Welcome Center in the main lobby is staffed by volunteer members of the Front Line Ministries Team. Their job is to welcome and support all visitors, and they will be pleased to answer any questions and direct you to the auditorium or childcare. Feel free to take handouts or other informational materials. The Community Connection, the Green Bay Community Church newspaper, is a great source for church events. Copies are located at the Welcome Center and inside each vestibule. Pick up a copy of this free monthly publication for latest details on what's happening at GBCC.

How will I know where to go?
Welcome Center volunteers, ushers and/or greeters will be happy to point you to the auditorium. As you enter the auditorium doors, ushers will hand you a copy of the weekly bulletin. You can sit anywhere in the auditorium and it's ok if you arrive late – it's a big place – just find a seat and make yourself at home! You'll notice our auditorium is a multiuse room. There are basketball hoops, a stage, folding chairs, and markings on the carpeting for games. It's not really a sanctuary or an auditorium, but it is a lot like a gym, so feel free to call it a gym-uary or sanctu-nasium if you like. (Yes, we do have a sense of humor at GBCC).

During Worship
How do people dress for church?
Folks at GBCC generally wear comfortable and casual clothing for services. There is no need to wear dresses or suits, but you can if you like. We are more concerned with building relationships and the state of someone's heart than we are with outward appearances.

How long are the services?
Services are usually an hour long.

What can my kids do during the service?
By all means, bring your family! If you have infants up to 3 years of age, the greeters can guide you to the nursery behind the auditorium. Pre-K through 5th grade students attend KidQuest classes with curriculum geared for those particular age groups. If you'd prefer, your children can accompany you into the auditorium. There is a "Cry Room" for young families and a "Nursing Room" for women in the back of the auditorium if your kids get fussy - plus you may want to sit near an isle to make a quick escape if need be.

What kind of disability assistance is available?
We have a wheelchair behind the Welcome Center to assist in transportation needs. Members of the Front Line Ministries - Welcome Center volunteers and/or ushers and greeters can help you. You can pick up hearing assistance devices at the audio board in the auditorium 5 minutes before the service begins. All they'll need is your name, address and phone number. If you require any other assistance, just ask a greeter or usher.

How will I know how to follow the service?
The ushers will provide you with a bulletin as you enter the auditorium. This is a step-by-step map through the service. The Pastors always assume there are visitors in attendance and are very careful to provide clear instructions on communion, etc… Everyone is welcome to take communion at GBCC.

What kinds of music will I hear?
You will hear a wide variety of styles through an equally wide variety of instruments and groups. You may hear hymns or contemporary styles, especially gospel, rock, and jazz, or even country music. Every weekend is different. The important thing is to engage your heart in worship, no matter what the musical style.

What kinds of sermons will I hear?
Sermons are scripture-based, focused on practical application to daily life, and usually run between 25 and 30 minutes in length. Click here to go to our Sermons Page to access recordings of past sermons.

What version of the Bible is used?
While many versions may be heard, in general we use the New International Version translation of the Bible.

How many people will be attending with me?
The auditorium seats about 1200, and during most services we average 500 to 800 in attendance.

When, and how, is Communion celebrated?
We usually celebrate Communion on the first full weekend of the month. Communion is open to everyone and is celebrated with oyster crackers and non-alcoholic grape juice.

Do folks raise their hands during worship?
Worshipers at GBCC come from many different backgrounds. While different expressions of faith are celebrated and encouraged, most attendees at GBCC do not raise their hands during worship.

After the Service
Is there any food or coffee?
Coffee and other hot beverages are available in Higher Grounds for a donation. Sit down, relax, and enjoy the company of other service attendees if you like. Parents are encouraged to retrieve their kids from KidsQuest prior to this time of relaxation.

Can I meet with Pastors and staff? Pastors, staff and volunteers are available at the end of the services on the second full weekend of every other month in the Gym for 1st Impressions. Feel free to come in and say hello. They'll go over the vision and values of the church and answer any questions you may have. Please pick up your kids from KidsQuest first.

Can I just be a "quiet visitor?"
Sure! When you visit GBCC, you can initiate as much, or as little, contact with others according to your own comfort level. GBCC does not require visitors to wear badges or to identify themselves as visitors.

Do I have to become a member to attend regularly?
No, membership is not required to attend a GBCC service or event. If at any point you wish to explore membership, there are regularly scheduled membership classes twice during the year. Click here for the next membership class date.
