Group Life is a term we've adopted to encompass distinct types of adult relational groups that are part of ministry life at GBCC.  The Group Life structure creates a broad umbrella of opportunities for people with varying interests and needs to connect with others.

Interest Groups
Recognizing that many people simply want to find ways to connect with others of like interest, we offer a variety of groups formed around sporting and recreational activities, arts, crafts and hobbies.  Interest Groups provide a non-threatening connecting point for people who want to get involved in church life.  Check out the many possibilities for relationships to be formed and developed through this starting point of common interests.

 

Care Groups
Are you in a place in your life where you need support, or perhaps you simply
desire to serve and help others?  In either case, a care group may be for you.  Care Groups come in two varieties:
Support Groups offer a safe place for support, help, hope and restoration for those struggling with past hurts and the wounds of life.
Help Groups provide multiple opportunities to follow the example of Jesus to live with a servant's heart and provide tangible help to those in need. 

 

Discovery Groups
With an emphasis on learning in the areas of Biblical knowledge and life skills, Discovery Groups focus on specific curriculum and are offered at various times throughout the week at church, in homes within or community, or wherever a group of people chooses to meet.  Learning tracks (available for many of the Discovery Groups) in the areas of Biblical Studies, Life Skills and Equipping for Service are designed to chart a path for growth, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey.

 

Life Groups
Life Groups are groups of individuals who meet regularly to "do life" together.  Incorporating many aspects of Interest, Discovery, and Care groups, Life Groups take on many forms and are organic in nature, allowing for spiritual growth as people build relationships and invest in one another's lives.  Since Life Groups form naturally, signup is not involved.  However, we encourage everyone to move toward participation in a Life Group as relationships are developed through other venues. 

 

Serving Groups
GBCC is committed to creating a model for serving that reflects God's love - a model that is a culmination of hearts and hands living out God's Word with more than lip service.  At GBCC, volunteers are indispensable.  It is through their support and service that the church's vital programs are accomplished. We acknowledge that everything we are, and everything we have, is a gift from God.  We believe that serving is an extension of your relationship with Christ - that's why we appreciate volunteers who donate their talents and time. Whether you serve inside or outside these four walls, let us help you get plugged in.
