The international branch of the serve team at Green Bay Community Church provides the platform for our members to connect and serve outside of the United States of America. In response to the Great Commission, our community has partnered with specific experienced mission focused organizations to participate in discipleship and service to peoples of other nations. In conjunction with these organizations, opportunities for travel to distant nations will be possible through international mission trips.
Quanaminthe, Haiti December 28, 2011 – January 4, 2012. This trip will be facilitated through Vapor Sports Ministries and involve a visit to the site of the firs Vapor center being developed in Haiti. Participants will be assisting with discipleship efforts through teaching, relationship and serving on active projects contributing to site development. No specific trade talents are required other than a spirit of flexibility and a willingness to serve the local people. Estimated cost will be $2000 per person. Each trip begins and ends in Sylacauga, Alabama, with a day of orientation at Vapor headquarters before leaving to Haiti. Transportation to and from the Birmingham airport will be provided. There will be a series of mission trip preparation classes at Community Church during the months of November and December provided for trip attendees.

Vapor Sports Ministries is a rapidly growing nonprofit organization that utilizes the favorite sport of any given third world environment as the means to connect with people in need. Their vision is to establish self-sustaining centers for disciple making and provision of humanitarian aid in 40 third world environments worldwide.
Community Church has chosen to form a partnership with Vapor Sports Ministries in a specific way by committing to a substantial sponsorship of the newest center planned for construction in Quanaminthe, Haiti. This center was chosen strategically as it offers tremendous opportunity for Community members in its geographic proximity and has the potential for our participation in center development from inception through maturity.
Vapor Sports headquarters is located in Sylacauga, Alabama and offers serve opportunities for Green Bay Community Church members in a number of different areas including construction, administrative assistance and help with area thrift stores that operate to support Vapor’s financial needs. Vapor also offers missions and discipleship internship experience for our young adults. Two of our church members will be participating in these internship positions during the summer of 2011.
Through the leadership of Vapor Sports Ministries, church members will participate in international mission trips to Haiti to support Vapor’s efforts and gain a greater understanding of what it means to serve in a third world environment.
