God’s idea of giving is more than writing checks. It is a heart matter. The subject of stewardship encompasses everything that God has given us as His creation, from material goods to spiritual gifts, knowledge and abilities. We believe that God owns all things, He is the Creator, Maker and Giver of all things, and by giving, the believer is returning a portion of that which belongs to God as a response of gratitude and joy. We are called to believe and respond with our hearts without obligation. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, James 1:17-18, Deuteronomy 26:1-11, Psalms 24:1
First Fruits Giving
Learning to give of what we have been given is a response of those who have come to know God personally and His great love. Giving generously is an act of worship that proclaims trust in God for future provision. At Community Church we practice faithful giving to our local church that we call “first fruits,” the first portion of anything we receive. The Bible gives several examples of people choosing to give God this first portion, trusting that He will provide the rest to meet their needs. As a church, we take the 10% of this giving and put it toward the GO budget, in which we are giving and partnering with outside organizations or individuals that are in alignment with our vision, mission and values.
Quarterly Update Video
Thank you for your generous contributions and supporting Community Church over the last six months. For this quarter’s financial update, we prepared a video with some of the highlights and how your contributions are impacting God’s work at Community. We believe this video will do a better job providing our committed givers with a personal, detailed update and be more beneficial than an update during a Sunday morning service. Please watch the video and provide us any feedback.
A generous giver is a person who has been reconciled to God through faith in Christ. Once this gospel works its way deep into that person’s heart and mind, the stage is set for a new person to emerge: a generous giver. Jesus measured generosity by a radically new standard: the condition of the giver’s heart.
How to Give
Each person or family should pray about an amount that will represent your gratitude to God and then faithfully give either on Sunday mornings, through giving envelopes or automatic bank transfer through our App or website Online Portal.
