Day 35: Community connections

Posted on

Our opportunity

The Community Church campus is used by a number of groups and organizations for various functions throughout the year, including Red Cross blood drives and AARP tax counseling sessions. GBCC also serves as a site for election day polling and AP student testing.

Our direction

1 Peter 4: 9-10 — Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Our value

Our call as disciples and the heartbeat of Community Church is to meet people wherever they’re at in their journey. Our goal is to have multiple reasons for people to be on our campus without attending a church function. We know that if we can draw friends and families to our campus we can begin to develop relationships and prayerfully share our lives with them. We want to connect with individuals and leaders in our area and continue to meet the needs of the community. The Ripple Initiative will give us the chance to re-design our space to accommodate growth and better connect with our community.

Our prayer

Father, thank you for blessing us with a church building that can be used for so many functions that serve our community. Help us to be generous with our facility and find even more ways to be of service to those around us. May our goal be to proclaim the love of Jesus through our words and actions. Help us to view our campus as a resource that can be used for the cause of making disciples and reaching the city with the hope of Christ.
