Lydia serves as the recruitment coordinator for Circles Green Bay and in that role builds connections in the community and educates and empowers people to make positive changes in their lives.
Lydia grew up in Athelstane, Wis., graduated from Wausaukee High School and earned a degree in sociology and Spanish at St. Norbert College.
Before joining the GBCC staff in 2022, Lydia served on staff at CRU, Freedom House in Green Bay and also did data and communications work for local real estate agents.
It was Lydia's job as a volunteer coordinator at Freedom House that sparked the passion she has for her current job, which she said enables her "to help people understand that we could all be one tragic event from experiencing homelessness.”
Lydia was around 12 years old when she discovered the need to pursue a relationship with Jesus. She began attending GBCC in 2010 while in college.
Lydia is married to Hayden, a GBCC children's pastor, and they have one daughter, Aletheia.
While she enjoys anything to do with water, especially swimming, Lydia also likes to travel, walk, read and journal.
A life lesson Lydia has learned is that it's both brave and necessary to ask for help. "I used to think it was weak and I needed to do it all on my own," she said. "I now realize it's actually strong to let people in and walk in the journey with you. Everyone can learn and grow if we walk alongside each other in the journey."
