Elder spotlight: Kristin Ashley

by Green Bay Community Church on September 05, 2019

Green Bay Community Church has been Kristin’s  church home for nearly four decades and a place where she has experienced some significant life events.

Kristin came to Christ through the GBCC  Children’s Ministry when she was in elementary school. She also met her husband, Mark, at Community Church in 1994.

A Green Bay area native, Kristin graduated from Ashwaubenon High School. "Growing up, we started attending GBCC in 1984,” Kristin said. "My parents had developed friendships with several of the families who attended at that time.”

Kristin earned an elementary education degree from UW-Green Bay and her Master’s degree from UW-Oshkosh. She serves as an elementary school principal in the Howard-Suamico district.

"I love my work with children and my talented staff,” Kristin said. "They are my school family and I love to see learning and growth in different things every day.  Each day is completely different, and I love to see how God works through the lives of those around me."

Kristin enjoys family time with Mark and their  three children: Thomas, Matthew and Abby.

Some of her favorite activities include cooking, spending time outdoors, sitting by a fire and enjoying Door County. She also  serves in GBCC Student Ministries as a high school small group leader.

When asked to share a life lesson, Kristin said: "Be present, don't forget to be thankful, and don't miss the beauty in those around you."
