Green Bay Community Church is a non-denominational group of Christ followers. We are a transforming community of families that are loving God and others. We are mobilizing people to share the hope of Jesus Christ with all people in the Green Bay area and walk with them as they become a member of the spiritual family, the Church.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God but in Adam’s sin the race fell, inheriting a sinful nature. Our sins alienated the natural man from God and leaves man totally unable to remedy his lost condition.
We believe salvation is not based on effort, rule following or knowledge. Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received exclusively by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.
Genesis 1.26–27; Romans 3.22–23, 5.12; John 1.12, 3.16; Ephesians 1.7, 2.8-10
We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired Word of God in thought and word. We believe the Scriptures are authoritative, infallible and inerrant in the original writings but we are fallible in our understanding.
2 Timothy 3.16–17; 2 Peter 1.20–21; Matthew 5.18; John 16.12–13
We believe the church of Jesus Christ is a spiritual organism composed of all believers. Membership is automatic when a person surrenders to Jesus for salvation.
We believe the church began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit gave the interpretive gift of tongues to the believers gathered in Jerusalem. We believe this and other gifts of the Spirit are still active today within the Body of Christ.
We believe the church is led by Jesus Christ through the leadership of biblical elders.
Acts 2.1-8, 42-47; Romans 12.5, 1 Corinthians 12.27, Ephesians 4.11-13, Colossians 1.24; 1 Timothy 3.1-13; Hebrews 10.25
We believe that Communion and Water Baptism of believers are designated in Scripture as an invitation to what God has already done for us.
Matthew 3.16; Matthew 28.19-20; Luke 22.19-20; I Corinthians 10.16-17
We believe that believers who are experiencing an inner transformation from the Holy Spirit will begin to freely express their gratitude to God through the practice of regular giving and service in the Body of Christ.
2 Corinthians 2.7; Act 4.34; Acts 20.35; Mark 10.45; Philippians 2.4; Galatians 5.13; Joshua 22.25; I Peter 4.10
Marriage is ordained by God and was created to be a lifelong covenant relationship between a man, a woman and God. God has designed human sexuality to be expressed only within the context of marriage.
We believe that all people are made in the image of God. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female in the womb. Our identity is in Christ and we are to express our sexuality according to God’s plan and design.
We realize many have fallen short of God’s design, have been tempted to do so or have broken marriage covenants. We welcome all into our fellowship.
Genesis 1.27, Genesis 2.18-25, Matthew 5.31-32, Ephesians 5.22-33, Hebrews 13.4
Green Bay Community Church is committed to supporting the growth of other churches that share our vision of spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in the Green Bay area. GBCC has shared its facility with a number of area churches through the years. We currently host two churches (listed below) that conduct worship services in the GBCC Chapel on Sundays. We ask God to bless these partner churches that share in our desire to point others in our community to Jesus.
