Elder spotlight: Shaun Jacquet

by Green Bay Community Church on August 07, 2019

Shaun gave his life to Christ in 2006 at a point in his life when he was struggling with addiction and mourning the death of his son, Mason.

"I accepted Christ out of anger, pain and frustration and challenged God to truly work a miracle and redeem my broken life,” Shaun said. "Since that time, He has not only redeemed my life, He is the source of my strength and my No. 1 priority. Each day I do my best to allow him to guide me as I try to accomplish His will.”

Shaun, who grew up in Ashwaubenon, serves as a vice president at United Health Care. He is married to Leta and they have two daughters, Hannah and Kaylee, along with two dogs, Cocoa and Jedi.

Shaun has been attending GBCC since 2008 and is energized by the opportunity to serve the church body and community.

He has served on the officer elder board for nearly two years and is the treasurer and member of the stewardship team.

“God has worked miracles in my life, and nothing makes me happier than sharing that hope with others,” he said.

Shaun is an avid outdoorsman and would one day like to live off the grid for an entire fall season in Alaska.

When asked to share a lesson he has learned, Shaun said: "Life breaks us all sometimes. But some grow strong in broken places."
