Day 1: Identifying with Jesus

Posted on

Our opportunity

A total of 327 people came forward and were baptized at Green Bay Community Church over the past two years.

Our direction

Acts 8:12 — But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Our value

Scripture teaches that individuals who put their faith in Jesus for salvation should be baptized. Baptism signifies union with Jesus Christ, specifically in His death, burial and resurrection. It is our way of telling others we are not our own, that we have been bought with a price and that we have identified with Jesus Christ.

Our prayer

God, thank you for each person who came forward and publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ. Empower them to continue growing spiritually. We pray that all Christ followers at Community Church would follow your command to make disciples, and that as our church body grows, many more people would step forward in the coming months and years. May Jesus’ love and saving grace be proclaimed boldly in this place.
