Day 10: Building partnerships with schools

Posted on

Our opportunity

The Howard-Suamico School District has made a great effort to make mobile computing devices such as iPads and laptops available to the students. However, there are 128 families and 169 students with no in-home Internet  This puts the students at a disadvantage for completing homework assignments.

Our direction

Proverbs 8:10-11 -- "Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."

Our value

We know that education for our youth has a positive impact in our communities. Green Bay Community Church has worked to build partnerships to support these efforts in our local schools.  We desire to have our eyes open to the needs of the youth in our area for their education, which may be academically, physically, mentally or emotionally.

Our prayer

Lord, thank you for the gift of education and learning. Thank you that there are teachers, aides, support staff and volunteers that work in schools every day to make a positive impact and to share Your love. Please continue to provide for our children and families who need assistance. Give us courage to ask for help when it is needed. Please help us to seek You and to find the joy of learning more about You.
