Day 12: Bringing people together around God
Our opportunity
A total of 448 people are involved in Family Life small groups at GBCC, featuring 22 different community groups and 16 learn groups.
Our direction
Hebrews 10: 24-25 — And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Our value
We are designed for relationship. We have found that community groups are one way to shrink the size of our church and to foster connection to a small group of people who care about each other and their faith. Our groups provide a safe place to learn more about each other, ourselves, and most importantly, about God.
Our prayer
God, thank you for the gift of relationship. Thank you for calling us to share life together. We lift up our existing groups and ask that you deepen the friendships and provide support for the members. We also lift up those people in our church family that are interested in joining a group. Please stir our courage and provide a place for growth. Thank you for our teachers, facilitators, and members of our groups. Thank you for modeling what is means to connect with others.
