Day 16: Standing up for education

Posted on

Our opportunity

Student Impact Communities (SIC), a weekly structured tutoring program in which GBCC partners with area schools, includes 55 students who are tutored by 25 adults at Edison, Howard Elementary and Forest Glen.

Our direction

Proverbs 22:6 – Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Our value

Community Church hopes to be a major advocate for the education of at-risk students in the Green Bay area. We believe that connecting caring adults with students will help children aspire, achieve and appreciate their potential in life. The Ripple Initiative will give us more opportunities to make a positive impact with children in our community.

Our prayer

Lord, thank you for giving us the chance to tutor at-risk students in our area. May these efforts allow kids to grow and mature in the educational process and provide them with enriched opportunities in school right now and later in life. Please bring us even more committed and capable adults willing to spend time and energy tutoring children. Bless this partnership and help it to prosper.
