Day 22: Sharing and caring

Posted on

Our opportunity

GBCC’s Share and Care program provides meals for those experiencing a life change like illness, birth of a baby, job loss or death of a loved one. Approximately 137 families received assistance in 2014.

Our direction

Acts 20:35 — In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

Our value

Share and Care provides food, one of the basic needs of our lives.  We exist to serve God as well as others when they are in need. We want our words and actions to glorify the one true God who has blessed us abundantly. We remember the words of Jesus who commanded us to reach out to those in need of a helping hand. The Ripple Initiative will enable us to use our campus and resources to touch the lives of more people in need of assistance.

Our prayer

Father, thank you for taking care of the birds who neither sow nor reap nor store away in barns. Are we not more valuable then they? Everything we have comes from Your hand. Thank you that you will meet all of our needs according to Your riches and glory in Christ Jesus. We are grateful that we can in turn bless others in our midst.
