Day 9: Kids learning, growing, connecting
Our opportunity
iConnect is an after school program held on the GBCC campus for kids that need academic support. Adults and high school kids provide one-on-one tutoring and a physical activity on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Currently we average 30-plus kids in the program with a potential of hundreds of children receiving this type of support.
Our direction
Deuteronomy 4:9 — Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
Our value
We value children at Community Church and desire to give them opportunities to learn, grow and connect with one another. The benefit of pouring into a child’s life has the potential for long-lasting impact.
Our prayer
God, multiply the number of tutors and children that come together at Community Church via iConnect. We pray for academic growth in the children, and for more willing adults and high school kids to step forward to serve as mentors and role models.
